Cultural Forum Altona . Pictures of the Gallery Opening . The Cultural Forum Altona is an Exhibition Space within the complex of 'Neue Grosse Bergstrasse'. For a couple of years, the building ensemble from the 70s was suffering vacancy and decay until it was given to a young and vivid designer and artist scene. Sponsored by the City of Hamburg, the Exhibition Space is a popular venue for national and international artists.
Three Architects, three cities, two exhibitions, one author reading. Architect Jun Fujinumas perception off the cities Tokyo and Chicago is reflected by Thomas MÜller and Kai Luetkens on the city of Hamburg. Despite a different perspective, based on a different cultural background, taken on different international cities, the photographs seem to have a common base which brings up the question about local identity and ubiquity. The exhibition was part of the 2006 Hamburg Architectural Summer and shown twice: on August 15th at the Gallery M6 as part of the series 'PUZZELING_EVIDENZ.9' where the Hamburg based japanese author Miyuki Tsuji had a reading from her latest book 'Wiedersehen mit Osaka' (Revisiting Osaka); from August 21st - 29th at the Cultural Forum Altona.
The Exhibitions where hosted by the Japanese General Consulate in Hamburg. Galerie M6 in Marktstrasse 6 . Pictures of the Gallery Opening . Reading The Gallery M6 is a former sales room, used as a Gallery by the Hamburg based Artist Christofer Geiger. On a yearly base, it is used for the art event 'Puzzeling Evidenz' which in 2006 was in its ninth year.

MIYUKI TSUJI WIEDERSEHEN MIT OSAKA (OSAKA REVISITED) CV . MIYUKI TSUJI was born 1968 in Osaka. After her Master in Tokyo, she traveled down the Silkroad to Europe and settled in Hamburg, where she is still living with her husband. She began writing about her journey, which was published in a Japanese Journal; these essays where later published in a book. By the time, her Short Stories and Essays where also published in German Journals and books. |
